As we move on to a new year, many of us find ourselves stopping and thinking about this last year. It’s natural to reflect on the entire year and think about what went right and what went wrong in the year. When you stop and think about this year, what lessons did you learn this past year? What about the year before that It’s important to reflect on those because as you are moving onto the Happy New You in 2021, those lessons will shape your future.

I know we all want to have a great 2021. Let’s hope it is great.

Hope is wonderful. It is what keeps us going. And that’s why this next thing might be hard to hear.

But listen: When it comes to your health, hope alone is not a good strategy.

In order to have an outstanding outcome, you need great planning.

Let us think about your health as something tangible, like the 4 wheels of a car. Can your car run on 3 wheels only? Can your car run with a Flat tire? Can your car run with unbalanced wheels? What happens when your wheels are not aligned?

Think of each of these wheels as pillars of your health: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual.

Now ask yourself this: on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very bad and 10 being outstanding, where are you in those areas? (In order for this to work you have to be truthful!)

First, finding out where you are, truthfully, will set you free to make progress. Whatever that number is, you can come up with a plan to move forward.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to come up with your number:

Physical Health: How is my energy level? What are my medical conditions?  What am I providing to my body in terms of nutrition? Am I working out? Is my body working for me?

Emotional:  Most of the time, where am I living emotionally? What am I spending my time feeling?

Mental: Am I feeding my mind with positive uplifting reading and listening?  Am I determined or am I struggling with excuses?  Am I learning and growing as a person?

Spiritual: How connected do you feel to your Higher Self? Are you Peaceful?  Are you sitting quietly and finding thinking time? Are you meditating?

Ask yourself these questions, and be gentle with yourself as you realize the answers. Write your numbers down, and write down any questions and comments you have. Please Subscribe to my blog, because next week, I will be giving you some strategies to deal with issues in each of these areas.

In the meantime, Happy New Year. Think about how 2021 might be the best, and healthiest year of your life.
