Everyone has theories about why we get sick. Maybe it’s because we feel stressed, or we blame our genes. We think we get sick because we have allergies, or we get sick because our mom, our dad, or our grandparents were “sickly” people.
What’s actually the ONE reason why we get sick?
Because we focus more on the convenience of food instead of the quality of food.
95% of people do not know how to eat properly. They sometimes don’t know the difference between good or bad foods, and they definitely don’t know how bad the bad food is for them, or how good the good food can be for them.
The number one cause of sickness is addiction. This addiction is a food addiction to the wrong types of foods. That leads us to be unhealthy and it leads to obesity.
68.6% of people in the world are obese.
Accordingly to the World Health Organization, “the worldwide prevalence of obesity nearly tripled between 1975 and 2016.”
Obesity leads to so many medical problems it’s hard to name them all. Obesity is linked with all the leading types of deaths in the world, including Diabetes, heart disease, stroke, some cancers, and now Covid-19.
(If you want to learn more about avoiding Cancer, read this article. Struggling with Diabetes? Read this one).
People who are obese have a greater chance to die from the things I named above, as well as a greater chance of developing gallbladder disease, sleep apnea, mental illness, body pain, osteoarthritis, stroke, and high blood pressure, just to name a few more.
The foods we normally eat are filled with fats, sugar, and fake ingredients that contribute to obesity.
Even vegetarians, who cut out meat, still struggle with obesity and eating processed and chemically-laden foods.
Most doctors have had only a few hours of education on Nutrition. While they are well-trained in other aspects, many of them do not know the right things to eat, or how important diet is to your overall health. Some doctors are eating the wrong foods, and find themselves overweight or obese.
In our society, it is hard to get away from all of the bad foods. They are everywhere, and we just “accept them” as part of our lives.
Instead, you can change your life and your health with just simple, healthy food choices.
The best foods to eat are unrefined, whole foods. This is a plant-based diet with lots of carbohydrates.
One gram of fat has 9 calories and 1 gram of carbohydrate has 4 calories.
Avoid refined sugar, meats, dairy, oil (think of all the oil in fatty, fried foods!), and excess salt.
It is this simple.
If you live a life where you eat a whole-food, plant-based diet, you can avoid, reverse, and prevent Chronic Health problems like heart disease, blood pressure, cardiac issues, diabetes, arthritis, and more.
Think about it this way: when you have a nail in your shoe and it’s hurting you, you can go take some Tylenol for the pain or you can take the nail out of the shoe…and Bingo! Your problem is solved.
The same is true when you use an Unrefined, Whole Food, Plant-based diet: that nail is gone, and so are the problems for your health.
